The Books I’m Reading Right Now

“Keep reading. It’s one of the most marvellous adventures that anyone can have.” – Lloyd Alexander.

Over the past couple of years, reading books has become one of the most impactful habits I’ve developed. In particular, reading personal-development and motivational books have had an enormous impact on my mindset and beliefs.

I have written other posts in the past on books I’ve found impactful which you can find here. But with most of us spending more time at home, I thought I would share with you what I’m currently reading. And by currently reading I mean books I’ve recently finished, am in the middle of, or am about to start.

EVERYTHING IS FIGUREATABLE – MARIE FORLEO

Everything is Figureoutable: How One Simple belief Can Help us OvercomeAny Obstacle and Create Unstoppable Success by Marie Forleo (9780241341032) - PaperBack - Business & Finance Careers

Marie Forleo’s Everything is Figureatable is a truly inspiring read. In this best-selling book, Marie talks about the ‘Figureatable’ philosophy. She covers everything from our beliefs, to overcoming fears and eliminating excuses. The way Marie writes is incredibly compelling and highlights that every problem we face in life has a solution. We just have to be willing to apply this phrase with relentless optimism and actionable discipline.

I highly recommend this book for anyone looking to shift their mindset and overcome challenges. Marie’s writing style makes this book a really enjoyable and easy read.

THE 5AM CLUB – ROBIN SHARMA

The 5am Club: Change Your Morning, Change Your Life by Robin Sharma (9780008312831) - PaperBack - Business & Finance Careers

Robin Sharma’s The 5am Club is easily amongst the top 5 books I have ever read. Even though I am an advocate of waking up at 5am and have done so for some time, this book was pure magic. The knowledge, wisdom and insights that are shared in this book are extraordinary. Robin writes in the most vivid, descriptive and imaginative way, and I was completely transported throughout the course of this book. It is not what I expected when I first picked up the book, in the most wonderful way.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking to improve their life, instil better habits and achieve peak performance.

THE WAR OF ART – STEVEN PRESSFIELD

Steven Pressfield’s The War of Art was a book I continually heard thought leaders and entrepreneurs recommend. This book is not for the faint hearted and full of tough-love, but really focuses on breaking resistance and winning our inner creative battles.

This is a book I will continue to revisit, and I highly recommend it for anyone looking to overcome limiting beliefs and create the passionate, life-changing work they were put on this earth to do.

PRINCIPLES – RAY DALIO

Principles by Ray Dalio (9781501124020) - HardCover - Business & Finance Careers

Ray Dalio’s Principles is a book I have gravitated towards for years. I finally picked myself a copy and am now about 1/3 of the way through. In this book, Ray Dalio, one of the world’s most successful entrepreneurs and investors, shares his tried and tested principles he used in work and life.

Although I am yet to finish this book (it is a huge read), it is packed full of wisdom and knowledge. A must read for anyone looking to achieve their goals in business and in life.

I WILL TEACH YOU TO BE RICH – RAMIT SETHI

I recently ordered Ramit Sethi’s I Will Teach You To Be Rich. This book is next on my list and I will start reading it once I’ve finished Principles. I love Ramit’s money mindset – it just speaks to me. From listening to him speak, his focus is on asking the money questions that really matter.

Ramit has been named the ‘wealth wizard’ by Forbes and ‘The new guru on the block’ by Fortune, and I’m really looking forward to getting stuck into this one.
