Lessons I Learned from Gary Vee & Grant Cardone

“There has never been a time in the history of time than right now to start a business” – Gary Vee.

“Small thinking has and always will be punished in one way or another.” – Grant Cardone.

Last Wednesday I had the pleasure of attending the National Achievers Congress in Sydney. The event was headlined by Gary Vee and Grant Cardone, with some special appearances from guests including Elena Cardone, Kerwin Rae, Jules Lund and Adam Hudson to name a few. If you have been following my blog for some time now, you would know that I am passionate about personal and professional development. I am always up for attending these events, especially when you have the opportunity to learn from some of the world’s greatest entrepreneurs.

In this post, I am going to share my key lessons and learnings from Gary Vee and Grant Cardone.

GARY VEE – SERIAL ENTREPRENEUR, 5 X BEST-SELLING AUTHOR, CHAIRMAN OF VAYNERX & CEO OF VAYNERMEDIA

“People are too interested in becoming first rather than becoming best.” – Gary Vee.

PODCASTS

If you are capable of doing a podcast, now is the time to do it. If you have a podcast, and are thoughtful enough to film it, you then have video content for LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram. Invite guests on your podcasts you you aspire to do business with.

LINKEDIN

Regardless of what you do, now is the time to look at utilising LinkedIn. LinkedIn doesn’t have to just be used for business content, but you need to somehow make it relevant for the audience. Aim to add value to your audience, don’t make it a sales pitch for you.

INFLUENCER MARKETING

Influencer marketing is unbelievably underpriced, if you know how not to overpay. When it’s done right at scale, it will return a good ROI. Don’t choose the whales.

CONTENT

Unless you have the attention of people in a way that resonates with them, you will be completely irrelevant. There is an enormous need to make compelling content and communicate at scale.

PACE

People are concerned about getting things fast and what do I get? rather, the approach should be slow and what’s in it for them?

GRANT CARDONE – WORLD’S NO.1 SALES TRAINER, BEST-SELLING AUTHOR, INTERNATIONALLY RENOWNED SPEAKER & ENTREPRENEUR

“Money follows attention.” – Grant Cardone

LIVING 10X

If you want a 10X life, you haver to stop taking advice from people who quit. Learn to seek advice from the right people e.g. don’t go to someone with three people in their company and ask them how to grow to 300.

FINANCIAL FREEDOM

Money follows attention. Quit studying the middle class and start studying the financially successful. Invest in time and money. Time is senior to money, and the super wealthy buy time.

THE 3 INVESTMENTS

  1. Yourself: If you’re broke, every last dollar should go back into you. You should be spending thousands of dollars a year on your own self development. Once you get to a point where your passive income becomes greater than your earned income, you can then spend money on the glamorous things. Only buy an expensive watch from passive income.
  2. Business: Everyone has a business. If you work for someone else, then your business is yourself. If you don’t get great at it, no one will give you anything above average.
  3. Other Investments: Don’t invest in anything that doesn’t produce cash flow. As Warren Buffet said “Rule No.1 – never lose money. Rule No. 2 – Never forget rule No.1.”

MARKETING IS SENIOR TO SALES

People do business with people they know. Worry about going wide first, and spend whatever you have to at the top of the funnel. Your brand has to get out there for anyone to know you.

EXECUTE

Those that execute win the game. Set targets and don’t retreat from them.

KEY LESSONS FROM GARY VEE & GRANT CARDONE

I am of the belief that it’s always a good day when you take a day to invest in yourself. The National Achiever’s Conference was an incredible opportunity to hear from Gary Vee, Grant Cardone and many other successful entrepreneurs. I would love to hear any questions or thoughts you may have on the event or these takeaways, please leave your comments below!
